Foothills family campground is a pretty compact thickly settled little campground. We were on site #51 which is in the back corner, maybe 50 feet to route 16, the site was beautiful and very flat and had nice gravel, but holy moly the car noise was loud enough that you couldn’t hold a conversation outdoors if cars were going right by. Luckily our camper is small (less than 20 feet in length) and could maneuver close to the power and water pedestal, but if you have a larger camper and only carry a 25’ power cord, you may be having to run out and buy a 50’. The speed limit is 5MPH, and at site #50 if you pass by going aprox. 6MPH they will all start hooting and hollering at you to slow down, like they are running radar guns, even though they had no problem parking in our campsite and when I asked them to move they had every excuse under the sun as to why they were parked there, typical seasonal folks who think they run the campground. The owners of the campground were very nice and pleasant and you can tell they have a presence on the campground, the camp store is very reasonably Priced and they will even deliver your firewood to your site, extremely nice. The last thing… the dumping station for those who don’t have sewer at their site is a bit interesting, it’s not where the map shows it, it’s directly in front of the bathhouse, you have to go against the one ways and traffic flows established to lineup your camper black/gray connections, and then the kicker is what you think is a black tank flush on a post right there, is just a redneck backflow preventer that flows into a homemade PVC pipe with a hose connection on it that is filled with leaves and debris and just gives you enough to flush out our sewer hoses. Overall our time at foothills was pretty good, no major complaints just some things that could be better, it’s in a great location to establish a base camp for activities in the north country. Definitely consider this campground, just note the things in my review as to what you could be in for.

Our experience at Foothills Family Campground was great! Laura was very welcoming when we arrived; and it was no problem to arrive a bit early. She guided us to our site and made sure everything was okay. The location was central to things we wanted to do in the area. At one point during our week's stay, Pat came around in the afternoon and advised us that high winds were expected. He wanted to make sure that campers were made aware of the impending - and possibly dangerous - weather; something we appreciated. Additionally, due to stormy weather on our departure date, we were able to stay another night and depart on a sunny, calm day. We certainly appreciated them being able to accommodate us. We did notice the water pressure was low. We did not use any of the amenities offered, as we spent time with family in the area, as well as visiting and shopping at places familiar to us from years ago when we spent a lot of time in the general area. We would recommend this campground to others. Thank you, Laura and Pat!

Camp site 15 was a beautiful site and Pat was a great help with directing the camper on site very friendly . Will return for future camping

Excellent family campground. You can tell the owners really care about their campground and the campers. So much to do on the grounds and the off the grounds with many neighboring attractions. Will definitely be going back soon.

The owners were wonderful. We had site 78 and it was a large site by the brook. I was surprised how quiet it was considering it was labor day weekend. I will definitely return!

The owner was very friendly and inviting. The large site was very spacious enough space for 4 decent size tents. This was close to a gas station and super market. I would definitely book here again.

This is the sweetest campground. I loved the large campsites and it was very clean and shaded. The staff was amazing and I hate we could only stay one night. I highly recommend this campground.

We have stayed here multiple years now. We always feel like we are welcome. The owners care this isn’t just a seasonal money grab for them. Every time I see them they are working on the grounds, whether it’s cleaning, fixing improving something. We are tent people our recent stay got shorted by a day due to rain. They ensured our site was grated holes filled and not mud. Things like that give a personal touch. To us it’s the small things. We appreciate the yearly opportunity we get to come up and we will be back

Pond for kids to fish, pool for kids to swim, close to coffee in the morning and Yankee smokehouse for lunch!
