Lakeside Resort Campground — Reviews

Because it was quite. I was right by a play ground, which was very loud at times, but once I fell asleep I didn't hear the noise. I like the area so much I'm staying there Oct 1st till Nov 1st.

The lot was large and grass-covered. It was a quiet campground. Everyone was very friendly!

Very nice, clean campground. We had a large, beautiful site on the water.

Beautiful spot to enjoy some downtime

For the 4th of July weekend, it was a zoo. Overwhelmed by many, many golf carts. Too crowded. Rvs too close to each other. It looks like a lot of the campsites are permanent residents. Lots of sheds, porches, lawn decorations. But, people were not noisy, nor disrespectful. Just too much in the space alotted.

We love staying at Lakeside Resort campground! We try to visit once or twice a year.

Very welcoming and understanding aswell as the place was clean!!! We were supposed to be on one site and did not like it and they allowed us to move over to a different site!!!

Campsite was easy to find and everything we needed. Spots were large and showers were hot and great pressure.

For a camping experience very early in the season, it worked for us. We had a decent site, everything worked like it should and there weren't a lot of people in our area which worked well with our dog. The people we did happen to see were nice. However, the campground does not give off the best first impression. Driving in, it appeared to be a campground where RVs go to die a prolonged death. There were more than a couple rows of RVs that looked like they had been dropped off a long time ago and left to age. It is clearly a park more populated by looong time seasonal residents than short term campers. There was a sense of decay both on the property itself and some of the campers. It was clear several of the lots had suffered flooding with all the rain, even some of the docks were under water. The bathrooms weren't cleaned the entire weekend we were there which was unfortunate as it seems some campers especially women struggle with taking care of personal trash and such. Overall, first impressions leave a lot to be desired but if you are looking for a campground that you can hookup and just enjoy your time outdoors for a pretty reasonable rate, this campground does the job.

We enjoyed our stay, but I couldn’t give it a five rating because our campsite number 90, which was kind of muddy from recent rains. It should be easy enough for them to fill in some low spots so water wouldn’t collect there. We stayed in the west area, which has a lot of trees and a pretty nice small lake. So if you have a canoe or kayak, the Lake will be well suited for that. Our campsite has its own dog as to several others.I’m told you can fish there also. They are opening up a new area on the east side, which is flat and very few trees. There are a lot of seasonal campers who stay there for months at a time. Some look quite permanent. There is a walking or mountain bike trail around the small lake which I’m told is about a mile long. The town of Ionia is about 7 miles north. We brought our bikes and road on the bike trail that runs east and west through the town on an old railroad bed.

The camp site was fine until it rained . The site really needed to be graded to get rid of the BIG pools of water ankle deep that formed. Really glad the rain held off till the night before we left. It was a good thing I packed a lot that night before going to bed. The lake was really low, about 5/6 in deep. made it hard to paddle across the lake but did get some fishing in. The main bath house was beautiful.

We made a reservation which we had canceled (seven days prior to the stay) thinking we were not gonna be able to go due to issues with our camper. Spoke to someone on the phone they stated we would get a full refund. We were able to fix the issues with the camper I went to reserve a spot again, realized I still was not refunded from the initial reservation. I wanted to give it time prior to saying anything knowing it can take time. I made mention to the lady working at the counter when checking in (7days after) and she offered partial refund, I explained I spoke to someone over the phone. She then gave me a full refund. We got to our site (90) and it was very muddy (outside of their control). We enjoyed the spacious site. We were on 90 which was a water front with our own dock access. We had a good time fall camping!

The spot on the lake was beautiful and so peaceful, the people that run the campground were so helpful and gracious! Would definitely stay there again.
