Mammoth Cave Horse Camp — Reviews

Great property well maintained good atmosphere cool location.

For the price the campsite and stalls were rough. Especially compared to other places. Every single stall in the B section flooded and had standing water. The campsites are also pretty on top of each other. The lights in our barn didn’t work and the boards in the stalls were falling apart. My horse got its head stuck in between the boards and another gentleman’s horse got both front legs through and had to be removed with tools and man power. So far it’s the most expensive place we have stayed from Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, and Colorado.

Campground was beautiful and the trails were close to the campsites.

The owner was rude, we had never camped before and had questions about check in. We stayed 1 night and left.

Rained us out so we’ll be back.

super quiet, nice setting with trees surrounding. the bath house was exceptionally clean. the laundry worked well. all in all a very nice stay for 2 nights :)

Unsatisfied with conditions

We had the best time staying here, it was super friendly right from the beginning. The hosts were kind and communicated well. The camper spots were well put together and clean including all the facilities. We loved the fact that we were about 30 min from Mammoth Cave National Park and the route there included the Green Ferry to get across the River. We recommend this pet friendly camp to anyone with or without horses as well. Can’t wait to stay again!

Nice campgrounds friendly

Campground was quiet, only a few other campers. It is primarily a horse camp and fun to see the horses throughout the day. The people are kind and helpful. Laundry on site and hookups were easy. A bit off the path and far from activities/stores… plan accordingly! Happy camping!

The staff is very nice. It was great staying at a campground that had direct access to the trails at Mammoth Cave National Park. It is a lovely campground. However, the only turn out available for horses is a single large arena. There are no round pens or paddocks. You are expected to keep your horses in their box stalls except when they are being tacked up or ridden. The campground hosted a large event the weekend of our stay. It was Kentucky Derby day. There was a loud party/pot luck that Saturday night and the noise went until close to midnight. We were then up in time to hear the bells inviting people to attend Cowboy Church the next morning. There is a lovely tack room to store your saddles so you don't have to carry them between your campsite and the barn. There is also a really nice wash rack to hose down your horses.
