We just finished a two night stay on the beachfront campsites. We had 6 people, 4 adults and 2 children over two sites. I found this campground through Google. I went through the reviews while there and here is an honest review giving insight to some of the past ones.
The beachfront was beautiful although the sites are quite close, we made it work. We never felt like our neighbours were in our space (they actually were lovely). The owner greeted us and helped us park our two campers. The water playground was fantastic, expensive for campers though. The children LOVED it! We were pretty much there open to close. We used the pedal boats and visited the falls. We also did the hike through the falls. It was lovely, not buggy at all.
Although we didn’t need the bathrooms or showers I checked them out and they were super clean! From previous reviews I can tell a lot of thought has gone into improving the campground. There are areas throughout the campsite that are junky (broken chairs, tables, cardboard) and some current construction happening. Overall Day 1 was fantastic. The owner came by at night to check in and we had a great 30 min convo.
Day 2 we had some frustrations and anger especially as parents with an interaction with the owner and our children. Our children (6 and 9) were playing on the inflatables when the owner came up to them and said they couldn’t go on the inflatables when they were sandy. Understandable if that was the end of it. He then scooped up buckets of water and threw them aggressively on my children multiple times (not on their feet, but on their body and face) I originally thought this was in jest but then he continued to pour water on the inflatables for an hour and his body language and tone changed and multiple people could sense his anger. Our kids had moved on and were playing in the water and he approached them and said to them if they have sand on them again he was going to kick them out. He then sat at the picnic tables and berated the children to his family for 20 minutes. There were no signs saying to rinse off before going on the inflatables, they would have followed the rules had there been. The way the owner dealt with this issue was disgusting, throwing buckets of water on the children, berating them and then walking around with a poor attitude is not the appropriate approach and for this reason we will not be returning nor recommending the campground.
