Willow Shores Campground — Reviews

We did not stay. The campsite was a slip next to a fence facing a cornfield filled with discarded trailers and other trash. We emailed immediately to say that we would not be staying and how disappointed we were with our site. We still have not heard back from the campground in our request for a refund. We did not even pull our trailer into the spot. It was not even close to how it was represented on line

This campground is dated and tired, and there was trash on the ground at our site that should have been picked up before we arrived. The dumpster bins were full and overflowing when we arrived and looked the same the following morning. It was a good spot to hook up and get some rest, overnight, but I wouldn’t return.

Everything was just great! people, the Environment. But the music Saturday night should've been turned off Earlier!

This place was accommodating and the people were very friendly! I would recommend camping here. Very little blood sucking bugs and that I like 😎

Easy check-in, friendly help and nice campground. 1 star rating for the bathroom/shower for both women & men, both hand soap dispensers empty, no paper towel, very dirty and not up kept!! If you’re using a trailer or motorhome with your own bathroom no issue staying here. We how ever run a truck camper with no wet bath and require facility showers and restrooms.

This was our second time out with our new trailer and only the second campground we have stayed at. The site was very spacious and we didn't feel cramped in. We were parked under acorn trees, so acorns were falling on our trailer and there were quite a few flies. We really enjoyed our stay, we will definitely go back!!

Friendly staff. Overall good experience. Poor signage on where to park/register. We drove past the camp store(no sign) and down a dead end (also no sign warning its a dead end) with our 30ft trailer. Hook up was electric/sewage on one side and water on the other.

When we checked in the store wasn’t open cause it was after hours, we rang the doorbell and called the number. Within a couple minutes we got a call back from Katy and she was super friendly told us where our lot was and if we have any questions at all to text or call, or stop into the store. Mostly seasonal campground, only about 10 lots that weekend or week slots. The bathroom and showers need ALOT of work, and the beach area was pretty small but it worked, other than that the campground was great!! Friendly people, good atmosphere! If they were to redo the showers and bathrooms we would be a regular camper there 😄

We only stayed for one overnight and it was fine for what we needed.

because those primitive sites are really nice, quiet, secluded. Yeah, they have all the amenities of your standard lake Campground

When we pulled in we was greeted with a smile helped us to our campsite very very pleasant people Campground is very clean we really enjoyed our stay it was nice and quiet

great time nice camp ground owners do all sorts of stuff to enjoy being there no pool but has a beach we take the grand kids there all the time

Had a great time with the kids camping. Everyone was very nice and the camp is cute! Would love to come back sometime and stay alittle longer.

Beware: Low Voltage and Poor Customer Service I opted to stay here with my dog instead of boondocking for 2 nights in August because it was due to be 98 degrees and humid - so my sole purpose of staying here was to use the electricity for my air conditioner. When I arrived, I made it to my site, and at the top of the day, the AC circuit breaker tripped. I turned the Air all the way down and flipped the breaker back on. 20 mins later all of my AC power went off - inverter, microwave, outlets, air conditioning - everything. Flipping the breaker did nothing now. I called the office to ask if they could send someone to check the electric, or maybe there was someone who could help me or perhaps they could recommend a mechanic. No answer. Panicking about the impending heat the next day, I was forced to call someone from RV Mechanic from Great Lakes Mobile RV Service & Repair ($$$ but awesome) to come out. My inverter was tripped - the input voltage was only 95. He had to take it apart to flip the internal breakers. He determined that the campground's power was surging and said that I should not plug back in because it could damage my electronics. I called the office a few more times with no answer. I wanted to at least move to a shady spot if I couldn't have air conditioning. Finally, I moved to the closest shady spot on my own, tested the power at that spot (also low voltage) and ran my AC off my batteries until the sun started going down. I would have left sooner but my dash doesn't have AC and it becomes dangerous in that type of heat. Once it cooled off slightly we left and stayed at the RV Museum for the night where we had no problems, proving that it was a campground issue. I have since called 3 more times and have never heard anything. *Total cost of my 1 night stay at Willow Shores: $511 (2 nights + new surge protector + Mobile RV Technician + 1 night at a different location since WS was a bust)*

I loved the place. Had so much fun.
