Montebello Camping & Fishing Resort — Reviews

Very peaceful and relaxing. There was NO internet in the campground and NO channels with our antenna. It rained the whole time so this became more important than usual. The site was ok. I don't think we will be back. Though everyone was very nice and helpful, there is nothing special about this campground. But it's worth a stay. If you're planning to hike up to the falls this location is perfect.

Montebello is a very quiet campground, we enjoyed our stay there. We visited the Walton’s museum, it’s about an hour away from the campground. The Crabapple falls nearby are also worth seeing. Montebello has a very nice store and the staff is very friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful and quiet campsite nestled in the Virginia mountains. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed evening campfires during our stay. The camp host was friendly, down to earth and very helpful. Our only regret this that we did not get some fishing in before our departure. We will definitely return when we have more time and get some fishing in.

Charming campground. Very nice staff

Arrived too late to check in at the camp store but the camp host got us comfortable situated at Lake View Ca. in. The cabin is clean and steps away from the lake which is full of fish and other birdlife/wildlife. Quiet and relaxing. There weren't a lot of other campers mid week but by Friday, people started arriving. Still, there is a lo of space between sites and cabins so it feels very private. The grounds are clean and well maintained. Comfort area was clean and brightly lit. I'm planning my next visit already. My dog loved it as well.

What a beautiful and relaxing camp ground. The RV spots can accommodate all. The two fishing holes were great and even had paddle boats, canoe, and kayaks if you wanted to get out away from the edges. Rich and Faye were great hosts even made sure we made it out of the campsite with our large RV flawlessly. Definitely will be back.

Very quiet and secluded area! big site! Nice lake!

Very nice campground - a bit remote but that’s ok! Rick is a terrific camp host. Lack of cell service was annoying - we do like for our family to be able to contact us but being out of service wasn’t too bad. We did have a few antenna channels and happy about that since it was rainy.

First time there.Nice place ,the camp host went beyond with helping with anything needed, good people. Also the front desk help was very sweet and knowledgeable of the area. Really enjoyed my time there..

Staff was super helpful and kind! We had a great time!

Bathrooms were very cold, had spiders and not cleaned daily. Also site was on a huge hill had to climb to get to picnic table and for pit.
